Hannah started her Automotive Apprenticeship at 17 years old at a small garage in Ottawa. She graduated from Algonquin College's Automotive Service Technician Apprenticeship program and went on to receive her Red Seal Endorsement in the trade.

 

With now ten years in the industry behind her, she forged various pathways for her careers in automotive. She practices her trade working at the same small garage where she completed her apprenticeship, preforming vehicle repairs. She also works as a college Professor in Apprenticeship Training & Mechanical Trades, teaching Apprenticeship Certificate & Motive Power Tech Diploma programs. 

 

Hannah volunteers with various organizations that support recruitment for the automotive industry and other trades. She also volunteers with organizations that specialize in automotive education & support for women. 

 

In 2023, she founded The Shay Way, a non-profit organization, in loving memory of her dear friend, colleague & mentor, Michael Shay. This charity supports The Ottawa Mission and other organizations that help those who struggle with homeless, addiction and mental health. Hannah is committed to creating a better, kinder and safer world for everyone. She wants to see less barriers and more accessibility to support, education, careers in trades and a good life.
